What kinds of items are available for purchase in Blue Mars?

The beta currently supports furniture, hair, and clothing. We currently support Masks and Physiques, and we are adding ability to create and use attachments.

With our Animation Editor, developers can create and offer custom Avatar animations for sale. In the next year we plan to offer interactive items and Bots as saleable items.

What are Masks and Physiques?

Masks and Physiques are item types that can modify Avatars’ faces and bodies by displacing their geometry and applying new textures.

What are “paired” animations?

Animations in Blue Mars can come in sets. For example, if you have purchased a tango dance for your avatar and ask someone else to dance, the other Avatar will perform the synchronized corresponding tango dance moves even if that person doesn’t have the tango dance in their inventory.

Will I be able to buy Blue Mars items on the web?

We will offer a web based marketplace for Blue Mars items next year. We are dedicated to making shopping and discovery in Blue Mars as easy as possible regardless of how users want to shop.
